Psychology / Social Work Department
This Department aims to assist learners reach their full potential. Through working with individuals, families and communities, the Department hopes to achieve its aim. The Department acknowledges that individuals are unique and therefore work with every case differently, according to the needs of the child. It is paramount for this Department to work with other stakeholders (i.e. parents, teachers, therapists and other service providers) for the benefit of the learner. Services rendered include:
- Individual, Group and Family Therapy
- Identify, intervene and refer to Social Development where children are in need of care and protection.
- Crisis intervention
- Referral to service providers within communities
- Provide home visits to obtain comprehensive assessments
- Assist the Discipline Committee to resolve discipline issues
- Work with GDE on and exiting learners
